This weekend, I had some time and the great help of @citysandra to see what we could do about duplicating the iRig adapter famously used for connecting your electric guitar to your iPhone. If bought, it’s a EUR 29 purchase, and probably very much worth it since we skipped the pre-amplification circuit and just used connectors - but on the flip-side, cost of building this version is probably around $5 or less.
The DIY device works with iRig compatible software, that includes AmpliTube, VocaLive and other things. Just keep in mind that the guitar is not routed through some nice pre-amplification circuitry, which would improve sound quality a bit more.
